Opening Segment & Atmosphere
The tension was so thick at the beginning of the program that one could slice it with a knife, as ex-champion Trick Williams found no other way but to run to the ring and take over the NXT stage, still visibly fuming after his defeat at Halloween Havoc. The atmosphere was intense. With production trucks and ring-gear as his stage settings, Williams reiterated that he is the king, and he will not leave quietly. His tirade brought out not only the current champion Ricky Saints but also GM Ava Stiles. Therefore, this confrontation between these four characters turned into a main event fight before even the first match took place.

This beginning scene helped a lot to remember the NXT stakes at the moment: besides the titles, the characters’ pride, legacy, and momentum were also up for grabs. Just a few days after Halloween Havoc, the roster was visibly changing their new alignments and battles.
Men’s Speed Championship Tournament Final: Jasper Troy vs Axiom
Arguably the most exciting match of the whole evening was the one between Jasper Troy and Axiom from the Men’s Speed Championship tournament final. Axiom of SmackDown fame came with his usual high-flying maneuvers and quickness; while power, to an almost scary extent, was the weapon of Jasper Troy. The styles clashing was the exact opposite but it was the crash that happened in the middle which was the most brilliant.

At the very last moment, Troy slammed Axiom with a “Black Hole Slam” so powerful that even the floor of the ring was visibly shaking and then the move that followed was a pin that made the whole world of the Speed Championship to turn into a one-on-one challenge where El Grande Americano is now the only czar to be challenged. This win pushes the momentum in his favor, which, as a consequence, marked very clearly him as one of the most prominent faces in the last part of 2025. The whole episode was just about right: the final of a tournament, clear stakes, and the eventual winner now becomes the hunted.

Evolve Women’s Championship: Kendal Grey (c) vs Lash Legend
Another title match, this one for the Evolve Women’s Championship, featured current champion Kendal Grey defending against the confident Lash Legend. Grey came in with a reputation for strength and dominance; Legend, for flair and calculated risk. The decision was taken from the very first minute, and it was a fight to the last drop. Grey overpowering most of the time with sheer strength, at the same time, Legend staying in with rapid movement and signature strikes.

The turning point in the match was a corner big boot by Legend—but then Grey regained her power, executed her “Shades of Grey” finishing move and kept the belt safe. After the match, she asserted that all she really wants is respect, and she sees herself as an unstoppable force even when crossing brands. Firstly, it cements the star ascension of Kendal Grey, and secondly, it gives Lash Legend the opportunity to build upon her next near-miss moment.
Myles Borne vs Tavion Heights
A lot of the heat in the match was generated from the personal back-story of the altercation between Borne and Heights. It was once a friendship-based team that was later turned into a rivalry. Myles Borne went head-to-head against his old No Quarter Catch Crew teammate Tavion Heights. Just Borne jumped very fast to a sagacious and smart assault, and on the other hand, fighting with pure emotion, he tried to wear down his opponent with very heavy belly-to-belly suplexes. After all, Borne got the victory when he rolled up his opponent for the pin, but the tale was far from over.

After the match mayhem followed—Trick Williams attacked from behind Borne while Saints rushed out to the rescue. The multi-layered aftermath of this encounter interwove this bout into the wider Williams/Saints storyline and left the crowd literally on fire.
NXT Women’s Championship Open-Challenge Chaos: Tatum Paxley & Lola Vice
The segment of NXT Women’s Champion Tatum Paxley started with her announcing that she will be “the fighting champion”. She introduced her challenger by the name of Lola Vice and they spun the “Spin the Wheel” to decide her very first defense. The faction Fatal Influence (Jayne, Reid, Henley) attacked the match just as Vice and Paxley were about to start, thus the referee called it a no-contest.

The open-challenge concept was done well here: it gave Tatum Paxley the option of being unpredictable, and the next challenger was planted as a result of the interference. The segment is a precursor of future issues and gives the women’s division a fresh breath of intrigue after Halloween Havoc disrupted things.
Myles Borne vs Tavion Heights
The match between Myles Borne and Tavion Heights was basically a reconstructed frien-dship that then turned into rivalry. Myles Borne was against Tavion Heights, the old No Quarter Catch Crew teammate. The personal back-story added extra heat. Borne was attacking the brain of the match in the early moments, while Heights were full of emotions, throwing heavy belly-to-belly suplexes, and trying to wear down his partner-turned-opponent.

In the end, Borne was the one to pick up the pin after a roll-up catch, but the storyline didn’t stop at that point. After the match, a fight broke out—Trick Williams attacked Borne from behind. Saints came out to rescue Borne. The multi-layered aftermath this match seamlessly integrated this match into the larger Williams/Saints storyline and left the crowd energised.
NXT Women’s Championship Open-Challenge Chaos: Tatum Paxley & Lola Vice
At first, Tatum Paxley the champion of NXT Women’s division stated that she will be “the fighting champion.” She called out her opponent, Lola Vice, and did the “Spin the Wheel” to decide her first defense. Just as the Vice and Paxley were about to start their match, Fatal Influence (Jayne, Reid, Henley) intervened, and thus the match ended in a no-contest.

+1TNA Knockouts World Championship: Kelani Jordan (c) vs. Jordynne Grace
The headliner of the evening, Kelani Jordan, was going to face the challenge from the past champion, Jordynne Grace. The emotionally charged match came as a result of Grace’s desire to get back her glory and Jordan’s intention to prove her reign. The focus of power and energy were there right from the get-go.

In a nail-biting ending, Jordan thwarted Grace’s mid-air power move, delivered a split-legged stunner, and after the bout, she beat her with the title belt while the Williams/Saints segment was going on at the other side of the arena. Although Jordan still managed to keep her title, the victory was definitely a statement: she earned the respect that comes with “surviving the beating and walking out with her belt.”
Overall Show Takeaways
One of the main factors that contributed to the October 28 episode greatnes-s was how effectively the elements came together: the championship matches, the tournament finale, character arc, and the Halloween Havoc aftermath all intertwined in one night of NXT. Instead of being like a “post-special” episode that would normally slow down, NXT actually progressed further. The personal conflict between Trick Williams and Ricky Saints became the most prominent underlying storyline, which opened the way for a big confrontation in the future.
+1
On the women’s front, Tatum Paxley starts her reign on a sincere note, Kendal Grey strengthens her hold on the division, and the blend of storylines that are going on simultaneously gives the fans plenty of options to follow. The wrestling part was just right, and the backstage scenes succeeded in providing dramatic linking points to coming events.
The open-challenge idea worked well here: it gave Paxley an image of unpredictability, and the opponent’s intervention was a set-up for the next challenger. This segment creates future conflicts and gives the women’s division a new injection of intrigue after Halloween Havoc shook things up.
Looking ahead: what follows?
Jasper Troy’s match for the Speed Championship grabs the first attention following his crowning as the winner of the Speed competition. Next week, thus, be prepared for a major announcement. Clearly, the Trick Williams/Ricky Saints narrative is becoming more and more intense and could headline a Last Man Standing match. The direction is in future NXT specials. The women’s group, however, is returning on its feet following Halloween Havoc and Paxley’s open challenge approach shows quick-paced adjustments. Innovative ideas come from the TNA/Evolve crossover matches; hence, the audience should be wary of how those inter-brand storylines play out.
Then this episode felt like a collision chamber as two events of “NXT Gold Rush” are coming in November: the stakes are increasing and NXT is preparing for a big surge.

What a great moment it was!
Actually, the evening satisfied all levels. The events at the big event didn’t just occur; they were the product of months of careful preparation, of which this concert was a vital component. Compelling contests, high-stakes tournament results, lingering post-match beats, and tales with major future ramifications—the WWE NXT entry of October 28, 2025 significantly constructed the plot of the months.
To cut short: this is NXT at its height of creative invention, one you should watch immediately and then revisit sometime later.
